K. Wind Hughes - Young Adult Self-Help
K. Wind Hughes, in collaboration with Linda Wolf, founded the non-profit Daughters/Sisters Project on Bainbridge Island. The Project, which a few years later developed into the Teen Talking Circles, holds workshops for young women and men and facilitates intergenerational dialogue between teens and elders.  Narratives of many of the young women who participated in the Project's workshops over a period of two years were compiled in the book Daughters of the Moon, Sisters of the Sun (1997).  The book's autobiographical stories range in topic from body image, peer pressure, to sexuality, drugs, and suicide.  Also included are responses to the stories by well-known women such as Maya Angelou, Bella Abzug, Angela Davis. For more information about the book please go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daughters_Sisters_Project or http://www.teentalkingcircles.org/content/about/wholestory.php.
