George W. Jarecke and Nancy K. Plant - Law

Bainbridge-based lawyers George Jarecke and Nancy Plant are the authors of Confounded Expectations: The Law's Struggle with Personal Responsibility (2000) and Seeking Civility: Common Courtesy and the Common Law (2006).  The first of their two books looks at a broad spectrum of legal cases to demonstrate that our society relies inappropriately on the legal system to cure its ills.  In their second book the authors look at civility in American culture and ask if litigation is really the most effective way of enforcing personal disputes.  Elizabeth A.
