When the library was closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, we kept selling donated books by starting a "BUY A BAG OF BOOKS" program.
WHAT: Books are packed by FOL volunteers into paper shopping bags.
WHEN: The bags of books will be available for pickup Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 1 PM.
WHERE: After selection and packing into bags, the books will be kept in the FOL book room until pickup. However, we won't store them for more than 2 weeks.
HOW MUCH: Each bag of books is priced at $10. What a bargain!
HOW TO PAY: You can pay for your bag(s) of books two ways. You can pay online by clicking here and making a donation to the Bainbridge Friends of the Library for the number of bags you want to purchase. Email us a note indicating what you want in your bag(s). We will notify you when your bag will be packed and when you can pick up. You can also just drop by and select one or more bags that are pre-packed and marked with the genre they contain. These bags are on a cart under the awning. You can then pay in cash or by check.
CAN I SELECT WHAT GENRE I WANT?: Yes,
if you pay online and send us an email ()
describing what genre or area of interest you have, a FOL volunteer will fill
your bag(s) according to your wish. You
can also use the "Contact Us" tab on the website to provide instructions. You can also pay by check when you pick up your bags of books.
